Feminine Divine

The declining respect for women in today’s world has inspired us at Gallerie Ganesha to host a show titled “FEMININE DIVINE” highlighting the aspects of the “DEVI” in every woman. The paradox of being a woman in our country today is that on one hand she gets worshipped as a Goddess because she is so benevolent and at the same time she also gets killed in the womb because she is so unwanted. It is a constant struggle for civilised society to find a middle ground between these two extremes. The various qualities of the feminine, namely, Shakti- Primordial Energy, Ardhangini- Rightful companion, Janani- Mother, Annapurna- Nurturer, Naayika- Prima Donna and numerous others, are present in each and every woman. She fulfils these many roles in her life, transforming into one or the other as the occasion demands. Hence it is an endeavour in our upcoming exhibition to highlight these aspects and to showcase the Woman in every Goddess and the Goddess in every Woman.
